Prologue

There are places a person lives that cannot be mapped.
For Shane Evans, that place was sound.

He lived partly in the world and partly in music - because he listened more deeply than most. Songs were where he processed what couldn’t be said. They were where he rested, where he searched, and where truth had room to arrive.

Between the Music is a living archive of an artist who used sound to reach beyond himself. It holds the music shaped through years of attention — writing, recording, refining, and returning to what mattered.

What you encounter here is the continuation of something already in motion.

The Steward

My name is Veronica Willinger. I am Shane’s wife and creative partner. This body of work grew through years of shared listening and making, side by side.

Before he passed, Shane trusted me to carry his music forward and to tend what we had built together.

I do so not as the owner of his voice, but as its steward — caring for the music, preserving its context, and allowing it to continue unfolding with integrity.

Inside Between the Music

Here you will encounter Shane’s songs, his recordings, and the world that shaped them — the studios, the quiet hours, the long nights, the moments where becoming met truth. Some of these stories come from the making of a song. Others come from the life around it.

Each chapter in this archive gathers around a song, a season, or a turning point in Shane’s life and work. They are arranged by meaning rather than chronology. Some chapters explore the creation of a song. Others trace the space around it — the place, the people, the moment when something quietly shifted. As new chapters are released, the archive grows.

Whether you are meeting Shane for the first time, or returning to his music with familiarity and longing, Between the Music is where he can still be found.
